Ciabatta is a somewhat irregular, slightly “dusty” loaf- so named, apparently because of its resemblance to a slipper or shoe. (Ciabatta means slipper in Italian.) With a chewy crust and complementary moist, porous crumb, it soaks up whatever you slather onto it. Great sandwiches or to accompany any meal
